Sandi's Story

"I NEVER WOULD HAVE ATTEMPTED THAT BEFORE"

Sometimes, it's the smallest everyday moments that show us just how far we've come.

For Sandi, a running leader who loved staying active, a glute injury sustained during yoga changed everything.
The resulting back pain made everyday activities difficult, getting in and out of the car, sitting for long periods and even sleeping became a struggle.

Unable to run and frustrated after numerous appointments with an osteopath and sports physiotherapist, Sandi began to feel like things might never improve.

After spotting a post about an over-50s fitness group, Sandi decided to contact Luke and she began training with Callum on Wednesday mornings before work.

For the first time, Sandi had a coaching app where she could follow her workouts, track her progress and celebrate her personal bests, she also began learning more about nutrition, becoming more aware of her eating habits and making changes she feels have benefited her skin, mood and sleep.

Slowly, she began feeling stronger and more capable.

One day, Sandi picked up a box and placed it on a high shelf. It might sound ordinary, but to her, it was anything but.
Even before her injury, she hadn't felt confident in her upper-body strength, yet now she'd done something she previously wouldn't have attempted and that moment made her realise how much progress she was making.

In her own words:

"Wow I just put that there by myself."

Getting stronger isn't just about lifting heavier weights, it's about making everyday life feel easier.

Whether it's reaching a high shelf, carrying something independently or feeling more confident in your body's abilities, those little victories matter.

And Sandi has a message for anyone who's nervous about starting:

"Just go along. Meet the team, I think you'll find they are all lovely and supportive and not judgemental at all.”

Sometimes, taking that first step is where everything begins.
