Mandy's Story

SHE USED TO CUT THE LABELS OUT OF HER CLOTHES, NOT ANYMORE.

Mandy's journey began with a wedding invitation but what followed changed far more than her dress size.

Before starting coaching with Luke, Mandy struggled deeply with her confidence. Getting ready for work could take hours, she worried about what people thought of her appearance, whether they judged her weight and whether they believed she'd let herself go.

She often wore slip on trainers because her feet were swollen and when a wedding came around, she found herself thinking of excuses not to attend.

She wanted things to change, but she didn't yet know just how much they could.

The wedding gave Mandy the motivation to begin but as she started working with Luke, her journey became about so much more than losing weight.

She began building habits that supported her physical and mental wellbeing, moving her body regularly, eating foods that nourished her, getting enough sleep, spending time outdoors, learning to protect her peace and perhaps most importantly, learning to respect herself.

Mandy lives with rheumatoid arthritis, and she doesn't pretend that changing her habits has always been easy.

There have been difficult days, setbacks and moments when motivation wasn't there but she's learned that consistency doesn't mean perfection.

Today, Mandy has gone from wearing a size 18 to comfortably wearing a size 12 but her proudest achievement isn't simply the number.

She's stopped cutting the labels out of her clothes, something she once did because she felt ashamed of her size.

And those hours spent getting ready for work? She can now be ready in ten minutes and leave the house feeling happy and comfortable in herself, she describes having a completely different mindset and a genuine zest for life.

In a handwritten letter to Luke, Mandy reflected on how much had changed since they first met at Costa almost two years earlier, she wrote about moving her body for energy rather than just appearance, eating well without expecting perfection, setting boundaries, prioritising sleep and taking responsibility for her own choices.

And one sentence says so much:

"Because of you you've made healthy my normal."

Mandy's story isn't about achieving a particular clothing size, it's about a woman who once worried constantly about how others saw her, learning to feel comfortable in her own skin.

She hasn't needed every day to be perfect, she's built habits that support the life she wants to live, and discovered that looking after herself is something she deserves.

Her biggest transformation isn't her body, it's the way she feels about herself.

And her advice to anyone considering starting?

"You definitely won't regret it. Best decision I ever made."
